All of our clubs and societies are run by students, for students - and membership is open to all ARU students.

Sports teams at ARU are managed by Team ARU, but you will find information on how to join one below.

We aim to bring emergency care workers and those interested in emergency medicine closer together and provide them with the materials and environment needed to learn and socialise together.

We plan to bring people together, run classes on different elements of cosplay like wig styling and prop making, have photoshoots and go to the occasional Con together.

First Love is a Christian faith society with the motto 'Love God, Love Others.'

Nursing Society

ARU Nursing Society Cambs aims to connect nursing students, support them in their studies and help them prepare for their future careers as nurses.

 
Kickboxing

We are a martial art club exclusively for Anglia Ruskin University, where we offer qualified fitness training, help boosting confidence and learn useful self-defence skills.

 
Islamic Society

Our aim is to provide support for the spiritual and social needs of all Muslim students at Anglia Ruskin University, as well as promoting an understanding of Islam within the community.

Lots of our societies will be hosting FREE taster sessions throughout the Welcome period. These sessions will give you a chance to try out the group before buying your membership. Team ARU's Sports Clubs are open to all, from elite sportspeople to complete beginners.  On Wednesday 18 September we will be joined by a range of teams so make sure to come and say hello.

Volleyball

Our Chelmsford club has both a men's and a women's team competing in BUCS competition. The club caters for a wide range of abilities, including beginners and are looking for new members to join this year.

 
Hockey
Hockey Player

Our hockey club is open to men and women, with over 40 members. The club welcome players of all abilities and for those players looking to represent us, the club has one male and one female team in BUCS (British Universities & Colleges Sport).

 
Basketball
Basketball Player

One of the largest clubs on campus, the basketball club is well-established and caters for a variety of players. As a growing club, we offer additional sessions for more recreational based players.

Fencing Athletes

Our fencing club have just had their best year yet and have their sights firmly set on BUCS (British Universities & Colleges Sport) success.

 
Athletics
Runner

We offer access to first-class outdoor athletics facilities with some of the best coaching and training available to athletes in the East region. We welcome all abilities and take part in all the athletic disciplines involved in track and field, cross country running and road running.

 
Archery
Archery Athletes

The archery club was created after a huge amount of interest in the Outdoor Activities programme. The club is always looking to recruit members and compete in some local competitions over the year.

 
Netball
Netball Player

Our netball club is well established to cater for all abilities of players. The club is also previous a winner of the 'Club of the Year' Sports Award. For those looking to represent us, there are two BUCS teams.

 
Judo
Judo Athlete

We cater for all abilities including beginners who wish to try judo for the first time, with a weekly training session held on campus.

The Judo Club (Cambridge) is one of our most successful clubs.

 
American Football
American Football Player

The Rhinos are Anglia Ruskin University's American football team. The club is well established and had their most successful year to date in 2019/20 going undefeated in the regular season and gaining promotion to Tier 1 of BUCS.

Table Tennis Player

The Table Tennis Club has been established for a number of years and will be looking to recruit new members again this year. The club is open to men and women of all abilities and experience levels.

 
Futsal
Futsal Players

As one of the fastest growing university sports in the country, the futsal club are quickly establishing themselves as one of our most successful clubs on campus.

Our women's football club are one of the fastest growing clubs on campus and picked up the most improved club award at the 2020 Sports Awards.

The men's football club is the second largest club on campus and includes two BUCS teams.

 
Badminton
Badminton Players

The Badminton Club is one of our largest clubs on campus and is continuing to grow. With over fifty members, the club welcomes players of all abilities.

 
Rugby
Rugby Players

Team ARU offer both Men and Women's Teams that compete in BUCS regularly. They cater for all abilities and welcome numerous beginners every year.
