Age Well East empowers people to age well, by being the go to place for support, information and guidance.

Digital Friend

This opportunity is ongoing, with no end date.

A Digital Friend Volunteer transforms the lives of homebound older adults by empowering them to connect with the world through basic digital skills training. Many older adults face loneliness and isolation, but with your guidance, they can discover the joy of video calls with loved ones, navigating the internet, and accessing online services that bring convenience and connection to their lives.

As a Digital Friend, you don’t just teach technology - you offer companionship, patience, and a lifeline to a world that might otherwise feel out of reach. With every small victory, like sending a text or video calling a loved one, you help build their confidence and independence. Your time and kindness can open doors to new possibilities, rekindling a sense of belonging and hope.

Connect & Empower: Help older adults learn basic digital skills to stay connected with family, access shopping online and regain independence.

Bridge the Gap: Too many seniors are left behind in a digital world. Your support can help them navigate essential services like GP appointments and NHS apps.

Combat Isolation: Volunteers help open up new possibilities, reduce loneliness and give seniors the opportunity to connect with others beyond the walls of their home.

Age Well East provides all training materials and resources required.
