Ruskin Journal - Cambridge

The Ruskin Journal

Welcome to The Ruskin Journal – the student magazine for Anglia Ruskin University. The Journal – colloquially termed The RJ – is an outlet for aspiring writers, creators and journalists to come together and share their ideas with like-minded individuals. Try your hand at reporting current affairs, reviewing books, shows and movies, celebrating sporting successes, lifestyle reporting, cultural analysis, photography and illustration, or anything else that you’re passionate about. The Journal prides itself on the diversity of its content. As a committee, we also aim to ensure that students are kept up to date with life at Anglia Ruskin, including the acknowledgements of upcoming events and news through our social media pages.

Memberships: £3.60 per academic year.

This is standard across all ARU societies. It helps fund any events, trips, guest speakers, and other associated plans, we wish to do whilst keeping the committee encouraged to continue working. Furthermore, it is really good engagement for us - as the committee running the journal - to see fellow students supporting the revival of this beloved publication, and we thank you for contributing and becoming part of the community!

Of course, publishing onto the website will be free for all registered students (ARU alumni may send enquiries to our email). However, please note that the committee are all students volunteering, and therefore, there is no monetary compensation for writing for us.

Benefits:

Committee - engage with fellow creatives to collaborate on the rejuvenated journal and website. If a member wishes to join, please contact our Publisher (wz147@student.aru.ac.uk).

Members - have the opportunity to join the committee and work on the publication, gain access to voting polls for writing calls, help decide on what themes to cover, participate in various workshops we host, etc.

The Ruskin Journal will be open to submissions from all registered students.

Memberships have been made available to students from the Cambridge, Chelmsford and Peterborough campuses. If there are any issues with the sign-up process, please contact a member of the committee or the Student Union directly.
