How to socialise while you're social distancing

Check out our programme of weekly online activities designed to help us (virtually) socialise and keep connected during lockdown.

We know what a strange and difficult time it is right now for students and as your Students' Union, we are here to help. We have put together a programme of free weekly activities for our students (and their families) to take part in so that we can all feel a bit more connected while we're social distancing. 

 

Monday

  • Morning Mindfulness - 10am - Follow Abi, our lovely Societies and Activities Coordinator for Cambridge, on Facebook or Instagram as she promotes a different mindfulness activity each morning. 
     
  • Yoga for Beginners- 12pm - 1pm - Join our yoga instructor Daniella as she leads a free lunchtime Yoga session. No experience necessary. Sign up to take part here
     
  • Online Drop-In: Clubs and Societies - 2pm - 3pm - If you run a club or society or are thinking about setting one up, visit our drop-in session to ask the Student Activities team any questions you might have. 
     
  •  Livestream: Pets and Wellbeing - 2pm - Join Amanda, our VP for AHSS, as she runs a weekly livestream with her pets.
     
  • Weekly Online Quiz - 6pm - 7.30pm - Join us as we take our weekly quiz in 92 online! We'll be using Zoom and Kahoot to play and there's a £20 Amazon voucher for the winner. Play on your own or in a team. 

 

Tuesday

  • Morning Mindfulness - 10am - Follow Abi, our lovely Societies and Activities Coordinator for Cambridge, on Facebook or Instagram as she promotes a different mindfulness activity each morning.
     
  •  Keep Fit and Self Care with Mary - 4pm - 5pm - Join Mary every Tuesday afternoon as she livestreams hints and tips for self-care and keeping fit. 
     
  • Online Drop-In: Clubs and Societies - 5pm - 6pm - If you run a club or society or are thinking about setting one up, visit our drop-in session to ask the Student Activities team any questions you might have. 
     

Wednesday

  •  Online Movie Night - 7pm - 9pm - Join us as we watch a film together via Netflix Party. For details of how to join, visit the website here.
     

Thursday

  • Parents and Carers Coffee Morning - 8:30am - 9:30am - Join our remote coffee morning - make yourself a brew and come and have a chat with other student parents and carers and members of the SU staff team.
     
  • Morning Mindfulness - 10am - Follow Abi, our lovely Societies and Activities Coordinator for Cambridge, on Facebook or Instagram as she promotes a different mindfulness activity each morning. 
  •  Livestream: Music with Matt - 2pm - 2:30pm - A weekly post-lunchtime hang out with Students' Union President Matt Hayes. 
     
  • Online Drop-In: Clubs and Societies - 5pm - 6pm - If you run a club or society or are thinking about setting one up, visit our drop-in session to ask the Student Activities team any questions you might have. 
     
  •  Online Arts and Crafts - 6pm - 7pm - Join us for a relaxing hour as we try out some easy arts and crafts activities together via Zoom. 

 

Friday

  •  Online Drop-In: Clubs and Societies - 2pm - 3pm - If you run a club or society or are thinking about setting one up, visit our drop-in session to ask the Student Activities team any questions you might have. 
     
  •  Online Gaming: 5pm - 6pm - Join the Student Activities team as we get ready for the weekend by playing a couple of free multiplayer games together.
    We will be using Zoom and then playing games online in a browser.
