Late arrival and drop in sessions by FBL:

This week SU with faculty business and law has conducted session to welcome late arrival students to give them equal opportunity of induction. Faculty has also hosted a drop-in session to address any issues that are raised during the teaching week. These sessions very useful and I would like thank our faculty.

Campus visit:

This is week I made my 1st visit to Cambridge campus after long time working from home. I got opportunity to meet new students and they seems to be quite excited about their new academic journey. I’ am glad to assure you all that university’s safety measures are in place. I have also interacted few alumni who came all the way from Chelmsford to discuss on my upcoming campaign “incubation centre”. Their feedback was valuable and hugely supportive.

Sustainable fashion week:

As a part of our team campaign, I took part in sustainable fashion week which starts from 5th Oct to 9th Oct. This is happening 1st time in ARU and its prime focus is to bring awareness on importance of slow fashion.

Student name change:

Students at ARU have recently contacted the Students' Union and expressed their disappointment surrounding preferred/ known as names not being used throughout university life. Following this feedback, myself and your Elected Officer team spent time lobbying for the names you are known as to appear on your ID cards. I am happy to share that now you can have “known as” name on your ID cards. Myself and the Officer Team will also look into bringing permanent solution to this issue. I will keep updating on this. If you would like to get involved in this campaign, share your feedback, or explain how this matter affects you please email:  o.singh@angliastudent.com

Campaign update:

Incubation centre: I met alumni and students, their feedback was recorded. Social media and SU official website are continuously conducting surveys to note down your concerns. I’ am meeting Imperial college Incubation centre head to understand their experience in starting one and operating in virtual world. I’ am also meeting FBL important staff to navigate and understand the viability of this project.
