Then it’s time you booked an appointment to see the Advice Service. We can help you with anything, including issues with your course or studies, problems with friends or family, relationships, employment, accommodation, or if you just feel you're struggling. Anything that is causing you stress is diminishing your potential at ARU, and we want to help you with whatever it is.

‘Yeah, okay, but how can the Advice Service help me?’

Well, if you’re not sure how to fix your problem, or just need someone to talk to, we’re here to listen. Our advice is free and confidential, and it’s just like talking to a friend.

‘But I don’t want counselling.’

Well, this isn’t counselling! This is just the opportunity to get your problems off your chest, to someone who may be able to offer a solution, or direct you to someone who can.

‘Okay, but aren’t advisors really impersonal?’

Not at all! Our advisors are super friendly, and just want to help you reach the best outcome.

‘But they can’t possibly help me with X’

Well, that may well be true, but you never know unless you talk to them about your problem and our team will be able to put you in touch with someone who can give you the help you need. It could be the simplest of solutions that you had never thought or heard of. Just having someone to talk to who you can trust can help tremendously.

‘How do I make an appointment?’

You can call us at 01223 460008 (Cambridge) or 01245 258178 (Chelmsford), email any of our advisors on the website, which can be found on the right hand side, or you can request an appointment online. You can also drop into our office and speak to someone at the front desk to book an appointment as well. We want it to be as easy as possible for you.

You can take our quiz to see what you know about the Advice Service, and to learn more about it.

We hope everything goes well, and that we can help you if necessary.
