Not only do you get to study at a great university but you automatically get enrolled as a member of ARU Students’ Union (that’s us!) We work hard to represent each and every student, make your voice heard and create success together. We run societies, put on great nights out, offer you volunteering opportunities and free and impartial advice when you need it.

3. You get to live in an amazing city

Historic Cambridge is known for its beauty, bikes, idyllic coffee shops, punting and, of course, its university (that’s ARU, right?). With plenty of parks to relax in, cosy pubs and bars, plus picnic spots right by the river, you’ll have plenty to enjoy and explore, whether that’s history or a great night out.

Chelmsford plays host to ARU’s sparkling modern riverside campus and has plenty to offer. The city hosts V-Festival every summer in Hylands Park and even has its own ice-hockey team, Chelmsford Chieftains. Don’t be deceived by its size, the birthplace of radio and just a stone’s throw from London, Chelmsford is a city on the rise.

Peterborough is a great mix of the historic and the modern day. Its beautiful cathedral and plethora of surrounding museums and parks mean there’s plenty to get stuck into alongside its four sports stadiums, historic town centre and wide variety of cafes and bars.
