Making the Most of Your Time with the SU

Coming to university is an exciting time and a lot happens in the first couple of weeks so we have put together a short list of things you should make sure to do to make the most of your time with the SU and so you don’t miss out on anything

  1. Complete your registration

One of the first to make sure you complete when coming to university is your registration. Getting this step done as early as possible will make your life so much easier when you get to campus to start life as a university student.

Being registered will give you access to all of the services you could possibly need on campus and from the Students’ Union.

Before you arrive, you should receive an email from the university with instructions on how you can register. If you arrive but haven’t completed you registration, no problem! The iCentre team on campus will be able to help you get that sorted out.

  1. Follow us on Instagram

A lot happens during your first couple of weeks at university and you are also receiving a lot of information that will be valuable for you as a student.

To make sure you don’t miss out on anything, make sure you give us a follow on Instagram @arulondon_su or @arul.officers for our Vice President account.

We will use Instagram to let you know about all of the upcoming events, opportunities and key information that will support you through your time at ARUL.

  1. Join a society

At the SU we have an ever-increasing number of societies available for you to join! A society is a student group that is led by students for students but supported by the SU.

So far, we have course-based societies, faith & cultural based societies as well as general interest based societies. If you don’t find a society, you like or matches your interests you can grab a friend or two and start up your own one! The SU will always be on hand to help you with this!

  1. Stand or vote in the Rep Elections

Throughout the year we hold elections to determine who will be class reps and course champions for the year ahead. We have positions available for every course, every intake and every year. So even if you are new, you still need to make sure you are represented.

Reps work with the SU and the university to gather student feedback and help us make the right choices and changes to support students. Even if you don’t decide to stand in the election you can still make sure you cast your vote to decide who your representative will be.
