This conference is aimed towards ALL STUDENTS from ALL COURSES across all universities in the UK. Nurses, midwives, paramedics, ODP's, PA's, medical sciences and biomedical science students, to name a few, are more than welcome to come along! 

Certificates of Attendance will be provided that can be used to strengthen your portfolios!

The morning will see short snappy talks from different surgical specialties including cardiothoracic, obstetrics and trauma and orthopaedics. There will be surgeons at different levels of training giving you tips as to the best ways to get involved and how to develop your portfolio! 

Following this, there will be a suturing workshop - a chance to either learn or refine your suturing skills! Simulated on animal tissue to mimic human skin, working in groups can you master the art of suturing different shaped and depth wounds? Are you going to be part of the winning team? The surgeons will be giving their top tips, so be sure not to miss out! 

Students from across the UK (and abroad) will be presenting their research, so you'll get to see what advancements are being made first hand! 

Afternoon activities will involve a sawbones workshop allowing a hands on experience of orthopaedic surgery! Can you keep a steady hand whilst operating orthopaedic drills? In small groups, orthopaedic surgeons will teach you how to utilise this equipment safely before giving you an opportunity to practice on sawbones!

If you haven't had enough excitement, the day will end with an obstetrics workshop teaching YOU how to deliver a baby, as well as some of the complications which may occur! Get hands on with the mannequins learning how to deliver normally, with forceps and for breech presentations! This is a truly unique skill to learn and a great opportunity not to miss!
