Transform Our Campus with Green Spaces Work Parties!
Join us for our Green Spaces Project work clearing events as we rejuvenate an overgrown plot on campus. Volunteers will help clear vegetation, prepare the soil, and lay the foundation for a thriving garden space that promotes biodiversity and sustainability. This is a hands-on opportunity to contribute directly to ARU’s sustainability goals while learning practical skills in gardening and ecological management.
What to Expect:
- Clearing and Preparing the Plot: Volunteers will work together to remove overgrowth, tidy up the area, and get it ready for planting and habitat creation.
- Sustainable Gardening Techniques: Gain experience with sustainable practices, including composting, preparing beds for planting, and more.
- Building a Community: Connect with other passionate students and staff, create meaningful connections, and become part of our growing sustainability culture.
Looking Forward:
This clearing is just the start! Once the plot is ready, we aim to establish a biodiverse garden with native plants, sensory gardens, and spaces for biodiversity monitoring. Our goal is to create a lasting, green space that supports learning, well-being, and environmental stewardship. Volunteers will have opportunities to continue their involvement, progress to leadership roles, and help shape ARU’s sustainable future.
