About Me
My names are Oluwadamilare Adeoluwa Ojewande currently a first year student in the Dept. of Human Resource and Business Management.
I am running for the position of Vice President in the forthcoming student union election.
I am a vibrant and courageous man. I am also articulate and honest,
I am not new in politics. My foray I to politics started with National Association of Nigerian Youth Development when I was in Nigeria. This association helped to mobilise Nigerian youths and gave them purpose and voice.
I was also an active leader in the Nigerian community in Belfast especially among the Nigerian youths.
Addendum to this, I was the Social Director when I was a student at Newham College where I studied Business Enterprise. While in office, I came up with programs that improved and promoted social inclusion of students and general welfare.
I have always had passion for serve and will describe myself as a servant-leader. Since I gained admission in to this university, I have had the opportunity to associate and socialise with fellow students on campus and had a lot of useful discussions with them.
Some of these discussions highlighted the difficulties some of our fellow students face. On of these is financial hardship. Many students have to work to sustain themselves and at the same time meet deadlines to submit their assignments.
If I am elected as the VP of the Student Union, I will work with my fellow EXCO and university authority to explore creating a special pot of money that students experiencing financial hardship can tap into. The student union EXCO will also explore the possibility of applying for lottery funds to support students experiencing financial hardship.
If elected as your VP, I will promote a strong sense of togetherness on the campus through social activities.
I will also ensure that I promote the rights and welfare of students across all the campuses and above all, be approachable at all times..
I humbly ask for your vote to give me the opportunity to serve you, improve your welfare and give you a good voice.
Remember – vote Oluwadamilare Adeoluwa Ojewande (aka Olu) is good for you.
