I have worked accross many industries in my life and found that one of my many talents include communication and leadership. I intend to use these skills in order to achieve our students needs when sitting and discussing these needs with the faculty board.
My manifesto is as follows:
- I believe in championing diversity and equality, but most importantly believe in unity, Instead of looking at what divides us, it is better to lets focus on what unites us.
- I will be campaigning to reduce the travel bursary attendance from 90% to 80%, I believe 80% is a much fairer number as many of us have family responsabilities which at times take priority over our studies.
- I will aim to hold regular meetings with the Deen and offer transparency, I have sat on the faculty board last year and found these meetings were the best place to air students views and requirement, as this is where they are likely to get actioned. However as good as these meetings were they were too infrequent, therefore I will be aiming to make these meetings a monthly affair.
- Problem solving. The aim here is to set up one to one meetings with both student for private matters that may arise and group meetings for when students and student representative require any support. I will also be arranging to answer questions via email, whatsapp, facebook or even in telephone appointments if this is more convenient for yourselves.
I am looking forward to meeting you all during the campaign and if selected will be proud to represent the students of ARU London. To be nominated was an honour on its own but success doen not mean becoming Vice President, but success will only be measured if a Vice President does an excellent job in representing their students.
Kind Regards
Umran / Immy
