Hello everyone myself Nikita and I am running to be your next Welfare and Liberation Officer role. As an International student myself I understand the challenges faced by some of the students and some of the pressure of academic success, the need for inclusivity and diversity is as important as mental and physical well-being. These challenges always inspire me to run myself for the Welfare and Liberation Officer role which makes me believe that every student deserves to be supported, respected and empowered throughout the university journey.
My key areas of concentration would be to enhance access the mental health services by getting in more counselors and get a shorter waiting time. Also creating a safe space for all my peers and support networks where students can talk openly and seek help. Will also cater to promote fitness and wellness programs to everyone.
I would also arrange for workshops, panels, and events and educate and celebrate diversity fostering a more inclusive campus. Will also push for the better accessibility for students with disabilities, which will include improved facility and digital inclusivity. Advocate for more affordable housing and meal options for students on tight budgets.
My interest to run for the post of Welfare and Liberation Officer role is backed by the spirit of servant-leadership and making a visible difference. This role is apt for me to utilize my experiences and skills that can have a positive influence on the international student experience.
Please make sure you remember to cast your vote; my name is Nikita, and I am running to be your next Welfare and Liberation Officer.
