Dear Esteemed Faculty and Students,
I am Ankur Sharma, currently pursuing my MBA at Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge. So being a Management student, It is with great enthusiasm and dedication that I stand before you as a candidate for the position of Vice President for the Faculty of Healthcare, Medicine and Social Care. With a vision for positive change and a commitment to excellence, I am excited to present my manifesto outlining the changes I aim to bring to the HEMS Department as well as in the University.
Mental Health and Wellness
- Implement Meditation Programs: I will initiate Meditation Programs for students and staff, focusing on stress reduction and promoting a healthier work-life balance.
- Collaborate with NHS: I will forge collaborations with NHS to integrate mental health services into our curriculum, ensuring students receive the best care and support.
- Launch "Meditators Point": I will establish "Meditators Point," a hub for advanced meditation techniques, to encourage a culture of mindfulness and holistic health.
Strengthening Social Care
- Create "My Home" Online Portal: I will develop the “My Home" online portal, facilitating easy access to accommodation for students, fostering a sense of community and belonging.
- Organize Entertainment Events: I will organize regular entertainment events to encourage community engagement and build stronger relationships among students, staff, and residents.
- Introduce Buddy Scheme: I will introduce a welcome buddy scheme for master’s students to promote peer support and academic success.
Campus Improvements
- Address Parking Issues: I will address parking issues by advocating for parking spaces or points and improved parking management systems to enhance the student experience.
- Improve Washroom Hygiene: I will improve washroom hygiene by providing wet wipes, ensuring a clean and safe environment for all students.
- Expand Sustainable Dining Options: I will work towards expanding sustainable dining options, such as tea, also reduce food wastage and promote eco-friendly practices.
Workforce Development
- Partner with Laboratories: I will partner with local laboratories to offer practical exposure to students, bridging the gap between academia and industry.
- Provide Industry Mentorship: I will establish mentorship programs with industry professionals to guide students towards their career goals and prepare them for the workforce.
- Enhance Placement Opportunities: I will enhance placement opportunities by building stronger relationships with healthcare companies, ensuring students have access to a wide range of internships and job opportunities.
My commitment to these initiatives is unwavering, and I am dedicated to creating a supportive and thriving environments for all students in the Faculty of Healthcare, Medicine, and Social Care.
