I love the students of this university; the people here have supported and helped me in more ways than I could ever have imagined. I want to give back, not just to those people, but to everyone who could use my support in the future.

Students are the key to improving Anglia Ruskin, and I want YOUR help to do that.

I polled students around the university and asked them how we can improve ARU. Here are their top six requests and how I will impliment them:

  • Everyone Has Someone To Meet – I aim to increase the range of social events so there is something for everyone in the future. After asking for feedback and ideas from you, we can deliver exactly what students would like to see next semester.

  • Everyone Has Somewhere to Be – I want to improve the campus’ facilities (i.e. library, gym, student hangouts etc) so that everyone can get the most out of them. Also, it’s time to turn student facility requests from a dream into a reality!

  • Everyone Has Something To Offer – I would promote the “resources” page on the Student Union website across the campus, so every student would know exactly where to go to give their ideas. Futhermore, I’d campaign to reduce the number of votes needed to forward an idea to the Student Union from 25 to 10 so everyone’s idea has a better chance at being heard.

  • Everyone Has Somewhere to Check I would provide a new noticeboard exclusively for Societies and Give It A Go to advertise their events. It would feature a wall calender so students can keep organised with dates. Every Student will know exactly where, and what time to go if they want to explore something new.

  • Everyone Should Have Somewhere To StoreI would like to introduce new “Temp Lockers” on campus. Students will be able to store unwanted heavy books, bags etc securely for a limited time, and pick them back up again before heading home.

  • Everyone Should Have Something New To See – I will help AHSS students to organise relevant module trips. If multiple students from a module wish to visit somewhere relavant to their course, I can help them to make it happen. We learn better from making memories than by simply reading text.

Want to make your university a better, happier and more productive place to be?
