Put your Ideas into Action

At ARU Students' Union we have ensured we take steps to place democracy firmly in the hands of students. Our fully student established and run; democractic societies and clubs have as part of their committees Campaign Representatives. They may take different names in different societies, but their role is the same: lead from the front in campaigning on issues that matter to students the most. Flexible in their objectives, we give student societies the freedom and autonomy to lead their own campaigns, surrounded by motivated society members, united by common goals. Campaign Reps can exist in any society, and we heavily encourage societies to campaign together and use their collective strength to bring about change. Whilst the Afro-Carribean Society may be running a campaign on decolonising the curriculum, the Sustainability Society may also work with them to raise awareness of global corporations damaging in environment of developing countries, but this is just one example of the many ways societies can and should collaborate.

We are always looking for leaders, and you can be one. Do you want to make a difference to the student experience at ARU and be the voice of our students of colour? Join our societies, and push your committee to bring in and elect Campaign Reps. Only through collective voice and action can we achieve change for students at ARU, and maybe even, the world!
