Performing Arts
The ARU Performing Arts Society in Chelmsford:
· Is a friendly, informal group which has been running since Autumn 2019
· Welcomes members with or without prior Performing Arts experience whether you:
o Wish to develop your skills and/or perform at events
o Are just looking for a laid-back and enjoyable escape from your studies!
· Seeks to embrace a wide range of activities such as:
o Theatre
o Music
o Dance
o Stand-up comedy
o Others as suggested by our members
· Has Previously run a combintation of:
o Face-to-face sessions (at the Chelmsford campus)
o Online sessions - open to members at all campuses and off-site/overseas
Potential future events include:
· Small group/individual performances - e.g. plays, jamming sessions, sing-arounds
· Amateur productions e.g. a play, musical or talent showcase
· Focussed workshops on performing arts themes - e.g. Shakespeare, vocal harmonies
· Course presentations/speeches – practice performing for group, feedback etc.
· Society socials: meals, local gigs, pub crawls, karaoke, movie nights, West End show
· Collaboration with the Music society
