Welcome to the Martial Arts page! Your coach has trained in a variety of backgrounds. The idea of this society is to bring together the core aspects that we believe are essential in self defence.
- Jiu Jitsu (throwing, grappling, weapons work, locks)
- Karate (Kicking, sparring, punches, kata)
- Kempo (throwing, striking, kicking, weapons work)
- General awareness and classic self defence
*Social Membership - This membership can be purchased by members who wish to join social activities but do not want to join any training sessions. You will not be able to train without activities insurance and a full standard membership*
Hello! Hope you've all been keeping well!
We're glad to say we're back again this year with face to face lessons being reintroduced back to your courses, and a new round of Martial arts training and fun social events yet to begin!
We will be training in Sawyer’s Gym on Thursdays from 5-7pm. 2 taster sessions will be avaliable to anyone who wants to try the society, however activities insurance is required. Please email or go to the SU if you can't purchase this online.
Please wear gym clothing for your first two taster sessions before you get your membership. For the first 10 members we will be giving out a FREE Martial Arts Society t-shirt. For those who train regularly, we ask that you purchase a martial art Gi from us which will be heavily subsidised. Please do feel free to wear your own Gi if you would like.
