The Advice Service
Whatever your background, becoming a student is an exciting time, but it can also throw new problems into the air for you to juggle with. All kinds of challenges come creeping in: finding somewhere to live, paying rent and bills, caring for your health and for some, finding childcare, finding employment and all manner of extra considerations. And once you’re settled and comfortable with keeping those balls in the air, in come the delights of assessments and exams…
University can be a stressful time. That’s why we have the Advice Service.
The Advice Service offers free, impartial, confidential advice on all of the tribulations above, and more besides. And if they can’t help you, they’ll know who can. If you have any kind of problem, academic or personal, our Advisers are here to lend a friendly ear and help you work out your options. They have a Community Legal Service Quality Mark – so they really know their stuff.
So, how can you use the Advice Service?
Appointments with Advisers may be made in person via the SU Offices on the Cambridge and Chelmsford campuses, by telephoning or by emailing. However you contact us, your enquiry will be dealt with as promptly as possible. Advisers are also able to provide advice via telephone or email appointments if more convenient for you. The Advice Services are also packed with leaflets that can give you the bedrock of information for many queries.
