Helpline, Email and Live Chat Support Volunteer

This opportunity is ongoing, with no end date.

This is a volunteering opportunity to help run Cambridge Rape Crisis Centre's helpline, email and live chat support services for women and girls who have been subjected or are being subjected to sexual violence and abuse. This involves providing emotional support over the phone, email and live chat. The support is conducted from Cambridge Rape Crisis Centre and remotely from a private and confidential space, depending on volunteers' preferences. Comprehensive training is provided for the role but volunteers can decide which service(s) they would like to volunteer on. You will receive training on counselling skills and many different forms and contexts of sexual violence and abuse and their impacts on women and girls. This is an emotionally demanding but highly rewarding role, and we'd love you to get in touch with us if you're interested. Cambridge Rape Crisis Centre can contribute to childcare costs and reasonable travel expenses to enable women to volunteer on the helpline, email and live chat.

We don't require previous experience. If you would like to talk through your circumstances, please feel free to get in touch.

Candidates who may wish to volunteer remotely must have access to a private, confidential space from which to attend deliver support, that is not their bedroom.
